Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have appointed their first set of captains for the upcoming 2024 NSWRL Junior Representative season.

Players from the SG Ball Cup (U19), Harold Matthews Cup (U17), Tarsha Gale Cup (U19) and Lisa Fiaola Cup (U17) teams came together at Manly Leagues Club on Saturday afternoon for a special Captain's Announcement.

The following players were proudly named as captains:

Harold Matthews: Reilly Caswell, Hussain Said (vice-captain)

SG Ball: Dylan Coyte 

Tarsha Gale: Lilli Boyle, Matisse Bettridge

Lisa Fiaola: Liesl Hopoate, Siulolo Richter

Former Manly NRL Coach and 1996 premiership winning captain Geoff Toovey spoke to the playing group about the importance of getting behind their captains and the support role they can play this season. Toovey is the Club's Junior Pathways Coaching Co-ordinator.

The NSWRL competition kicks off this Saturday, February 3, with Manly playing the Western Suburbs Magpies at 4 Pines Park at midday in the SG Ball Cup. Entry is free.

In a show of club unity, the SG Ball team will be supported on Saturday by the Harold Matthews, Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale sides who all have a bye in round one.

The captains for the Jersey Flegg Cup and Sydney Shield teams will be named closer to their season kick-off in March.

Nathan Hogan (SG Ball Cup)

"We have been focusing on our team values of Respect, Accountability, Trust & Honesty. Dylan Coyte personifies these values."

Jordan Meredith (Harold Matthews Cup)

“Reilly Caswell (captain) and Hussein Said (vice-captain) have demonstrated leadership, kindness and gained the respect of all their peers by their efforts. They are not necessarily the most skillful or talented people in the team but they have earnt their captaincy roles through their hard work."

Daniel Markham (Lisa Fiaola Cup Coach)

"Liesl and Siulolo are both leaders on and off the field. The girls look up to these two."

Keith Hanley (Tarsha Gale Cup team)

"Lilli has a great work ethic and is a very respectful, tough and strong leader. Matisse is a smart girl who works hard and displays good leadership ability."
