Golden Eagles
A who’s who of Manly greats will be at the game as the Sea Eagles celebrate a special edition of Golden Eagles Round.
Arko, Cliffy, Fatty, Maxy, Beaver, Zorba, Snake, and more. In fact, we will see a record number of ‘old boys’ at this year’s event in the Club’s 80th anniversary season. Please be upstanding at about 3:40pm when these Manly legends enter the field for their lap of honour.
Steve Rogers Memorial Trophy
The Steve Rogers Memorial Trophy has been contested for every year since March 2006 between the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. The Sharks currently hold the trophy following their 28-22 victory at Ocean Protect Stadium in Round 13. Manly has won the trophy 21 times from the 33 matches played.
Rogers enjoyed a longstanding rivalry with Manly, having played in the brutal grand final loss to the Sea Eagles in 1973. He then captained the Sharks in the 1978 grand final and grand final replay against the Sea Eagles.
Match Preview
There’s plenty up for grabs in this one as our team pushes for a place in the finals. Wouldn’t it be nice – with so many past players in the house – if we can notch our 1000th win as a club, and 500th victory at 4 Pines Park, Brookvale. Read full preview.
