Sea Eagles look for last glimmer of hope in Jersey Flegg

Manly will be looking to finish the season strongly in the Jersey Flegg Cup in what has been a mixed season for the young Sea Eagles.

With two rounds remaining, the Sea Eagles sit in seventh spot on 24 points, four points behind the fifth placed Melbourne Storm. The top five teams contest the finals.

Although there is a very small glimmer of hope flickering away in terms of the finals, the Sea Eagles would need to win their next two matches by big margins to improve their points differential record and hope the Storm lose both of their games.

The Storm have a points differential of -12 compared to Manly’s -59.

Manly will be looking to go out with all guns blazing when they take on the St George-Illawarra Dragons at 4 Pines Park at 12pm on Saturday afternoon in round 25.

The two teams met just three weeks ago in round 22 with the Sea Eagles proving too strong in a 32-16 win at Shellharbour.

The Sea Eagles head into the match with their confidence up following a gritty 16-14 win over the third placed Penrith after trailing 10-4 at half-time.

Manly finish the regular season with an away game against the second-placed Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
