Sea Eagles extend Taniela Paseka to end of 2026

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have rewarded powerful prop Taniela Paseka for his fine form this season with a new two-year extension.

Off contract at the end of next season, Paseka has re-signed with the Sea Eagles to the end of 2026.

Now in his sixth season with the Sea Eagles, Paseka – who stands at 197cm and weighs 124kg - has become a real enforcer of the Manly pack with his damaging runs.

After 18 rounds of the 2023 Telstra Premiership, Paseka sits sixth on the NRL post-contact metres list with 957 metres.

From his 16 games this season, Paseka is averaging 146 run metres and 13 hit ups per game with a high tackle efficiency rate of 92 per cent.

He has also made 31 tackle breaks and 17 offloads, such is the strength of the 25-year-old.

Sea Eagles Coach Anthony Seibold was pleased to retain Paseka, who has played 95 games for Manly since making his NRL debut for the club in 2018.

“This has been Taniela’s most consistent year of NRL with him being our starting front-rower all season,’’ Seibold said.

“He has closed the gap between his best and his worst games.

“I think by giving him some responsibility as that starting front-rower, he has done a really great job being a more consistent footy player and that comes down to his preparation, which has been good each week.

“Taniela is well settled here at Manly and his best footy is in front of him over the next couple of years.”
