Kite will take on a key role working primarily with the Sea Eagles’ forward pack, with a particular focus on the club’s middle forwards.

A cornerstone of Manly’s pack for almost a decade, Kite made 221 appearances for the Sea Eagles between 2005 and 2013, playing a pivotal role in the club’s 2008 and 2011 premiership triumphs.

His performance in the 2008 Grand Final was one for the history books, with Kite awarded the Clive Churchill Medal after producing a commanding display in Manly’s 40-0 demolition of Melbourne.

Kite established himself as one of the game’s most respected forwards, representing New South Wales on 10 occasions and playing for Australia and Tonga at international level.

Foran, who played five seasons alongside Kite at Manly, is thrilled to welcome his former teammate back to the Sea Eagles.

“As a player Brent was extremely tough, brave, smart and his leadership skills were a pivotal part of our success,” Foran said.

“I think he’ll be really good for our players, especially our forwards. His experience and resilience will bring that extra hard edge to our pack.

He has Manly blood running through his veins and is hugely respected by the Manly community.
