The Points That Count: Sea Eagles vs Panthers

We take a look at the key points and numbers heading into Saturday’s clash against the Penrith Panthers in Penrith, thanks to our Major Partner Pointsbet.

The NRL match kicks-off at Panthers Stadium at 5.30pm.

297

Tom Trbojevic ran a whopping 297 metres from 33 runs in last week's draw against the Knights in Mudgee. 'Turbo' also topped the match for post contact metres with 68 and had a hand in two try assists.

166

The number of tackles Jake Trbojevic made an incredible 166 tackles from just four matches for an average of 41. A true warrior, Jake made 49 tackles in the Golden Point matches against Souths and the Knights.

93

The number of matches played between the two clubs. Manly have won 52 with one match ending in an 11-all draw in 1986.

63

Our biggest winning margin over the Panthers achieved in 1973 in a 70-7 victory. Johnny Mayes bagged four tries, Alan Thompson a hat-trick, and Bob Fulton crossed for a double in a 14 tries to one romp. Graham Eadie was a sharpshooter that day, converting all 14 goals.

53

The amount of points the Panthers put on the Canberra Raiders last weekend. The back-to-back premiers were just too good, outscoring the Raiders nine tries two. We love a good challenge, so bring it on!

44

Reuben Garrick sits third on the NRL Most Points Ladder with 44 points from four matches, just eight behind the Dolphins' Jamayne Issako. 'Gaz' has scored three tries and kicked 16 goals in 2023.

18

It be hard to beat the noise and passion of the 18 'Manly Mafia' members who made the trip to Mudgee last week for their third consecutive year.

These die hard Sea Eagles supporters sat on the hill and almost took up permanent residency inside the front bar of the Oriental Hotel. It was like walking into a scene from 'The Sopranos'. And yes, they were 'Goodfellas' too.

9

The number of line breaks Garrick has registered in four games, maintaining the top spot on the NRL Leaderboard. The winger added two to his tally in the draw against the Knights. Tom Trbojevic is the next best Manly player with three line breaks.

6

The Panthers have won their past six games against the Sea Eagles. It's time boys to end that winning streak. Our last win at the 'foot of the mountains' was in 2018.

4

Daly Cherry-Evans and Haumole Olakau’atu have scored four tries each in 2023. ‘DCE’ is only one try away from equaling last year's tally of five. Trailing closely behind is Tom Trbojevic and Reuben Garrick with three tries each.

2

It's going to be great to see speedster Jason Saab wear the number '2' jersey against Penrith. Look out for an ever better version of our much loved 'Saab'.

1

One point sits between superstars Tom Trbojevic and Nathan Cleary on the Dally M Leaderboard for 2023. Tom, the 2021 Dally M winner, sits on 12 points just ahead of Cleary on 11.

The number of wooden spoons the Sea Eagles have proudly never won. It will never get old!
