Daly Cherry-Evans to captain Maroons in fourth consecutive series

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles half-back and captain Daly Cherry-Evans will again lead the Queensland Maroons in the 2022 State of Origin series.

Cherry-Evans was today named captain of the Maroons for the opening game of the series at Accor Stadium, Homebush, on Wednesday, June 8, at 8.10pm.

He has been the current Maroons captain since 2019 and led Queensland to a 2-1 series victory in 2020.

The match-winning number seven has played 16 games for Queensland for eight wins and eight losses since making his Maroons debut in 2013.

There are no Manly players in the NSW team.
