Kieran Foran will tonight achieve another special accolade in his superb career at the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles when he leads the team out against the Canberra Raiders at 4 Pines Park.
Foran will captain Manly for the first time in his 161st game for the Sea Eagles with regular captain Daly Cherry-Evans unavailable due to Origin duty with Queensland.
The experienced five-eighth will become the 65th Manly captain since the Club's first season in 1947.
Foran has enjoyed a stellar season in his first year back at Manly in 2021 with the popular clubman's skills and leadership qualities proving invaluable to the younger players in the team.
The last player to replace Cherry-Evans as captain was Joel Thompson, who led the Sea Eagles against Penrith at Penrith Park in 2019 (Rd 12).
Hooker Fred Jones holds the record for most premierships as Manly captain, leading the Sea Eagles to their famous victories in 1972 and 1973.
