Three Sea Eagles selected in PM's XIII team

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players Daly Cherry-Evans, Brian Kelly, and Jake Trbojevic have today been named in the Australian Prime Minister's XIII team to play Papua New Guinea.

It will be the fourth consecutive year Jake has represented the Australian PM's XIII team and a first for Cherry-Evans and Kelly.

Cherry-Evans has also been named as captain. The annual clash will be played at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby on October 6.

For Cherry-Evans, the match will be a genuine chance for the Sea Eagles captain to push his claim for the October Tests against New Zealand and Tonga.

The Sea Eagles half-back reminded national selectors of what he is capable of with a dominant performance for Queensland in his return to the Origin arena in the final game of this year's series.
Cherry-Evans has played 11 Tests for Australia – the last being in 2014.

The PM's XIII team features eight players who have represented the Australian Kangaroos and also includes 12 debutants.

The team travels to Brisbane next Wednesday before departing to Port Moresby the following day.
