Tom Trbojevic says the Sea Eagles need to find their best form very quickly or face the prospect of missing out on the Telstra Premiership finals.
Like his team-mates, the 20-year-old Manly full-back is feeling the pain and disappointment following back-to-back losses to the lowly placed Wests Tigers and the Bulldogs.
The Sea Eagles have lost four of their past five matches and remain on 28 points with two matches remaining of the regular season before the Telstra Premiership finals.
A 30-16 loss yesterday to the lowly placed Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium yesterday saw Manly slip from seventh to eighth position.
“We all play footy to plays finals footy. To miss out would be very disappointing considering we had for the first 20 weeks such a good season,’’ Trbojevic said today.
“We need to win the next two games to guarantee ourselves a spot and that’s our focus.
“At this time of the year, you need to be at your best and we haven’t been.
“We didn’t turn up to play yesterday and the result showed that. The Bulldogs were very good and we weren’t at our best. It wasn’t good enough on our behalf.
“We need to get our mojo back and (find) the form we had in the middle of the year. We have dropped off over the past month and we need to get back to where we were. Hopefully we can do that this weekend.”
Manly play the 13th placed Warriors in Auckland on Sunday before tackling the sixth placed Penrith at Lottoland on Saturday, September 2.
