Match Preview: ANZAC Round vs Eels

The Sea Eagles will take on the Eels in ANZAC Round at a packed 4 Pines Park on Sunday afternoon.

Manly returns to Brookvale after three straight wins on road hoping to collect their first victory at home this season.

After a slow start to 2026, wins over the Dolphins, Dragons and Cowboys saw Manly climb to sixth on the ladder heading into Round 8.

The Eels head to the Northern Beaches after silencing the Bulldogs last Sunday, ending a run of three straight defeats which included a 52-10 loss to the Titans in Round 6.

Parramatta players from 1986 were watching on as the Eels claimed an against-the-odds win over the Dogs last round, 40 years on from their club’s last premiership.

On Sunday it will be Manly legends watching on, 50 years after the Sea Eagles defeated the Eels in the 1976 Grand Final.

Many of the players from that premiership-winning team will be introduced to the crowd ahead of the official ANZAC Ceremony.

Over the years, the Sea Eagles have had the upper hand over the Eels, winning 59% all matches played since 1947, and 69% of the 71 matches played at Brookvale.

Results were shared one apiece last season with Manly beating Parramatta by 14 points in March before suffering a 20-point loss at CommBank a couple of months later.

In team news Tolu Koula will slot into the No.1 jersey in place of Tom Trbojevic (hamstring) with Clayton Faulalo moving into the centres. It is an otherwise unchanged lineup.

For the Eels centre Sean Russell and back-rower Kelma Tuilagi have both been named to return from concussion.
