Manly Leagues will be hoping their first home game of the season will bring more joy after a tough initiation to the Ron Massey Cup.
The Sea Eagles play Penrith Brothers, who lost their opening match 26-6 to the Glebe Dirty Reds.
Manly Leagues were promoted to the Ron Massey Cup following their premiership success last year in the third tier Sydney Shield competition.
The Ron Massey Cup is the state’s second-tier competition that feeds into the NSW Cup.
It was a hard assignment first up for Manly Leagues against heavyweights Wentworthville Magpies at Ringrose Park, with the Sea Eagles going down 32-6.
The Sea Eagles’ lone try came three minutes after half-time when forward Daniel Manu carried four defenders over the line in a powerful run.
Manly Leagues play Penrith Brothers on Saturday, April 4, at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, Narrabeen. Kick-off 2.50pm.
