Blacktown out to make amends in NSW Cup

Blacktown Workers will be hungry to make amends for a poor  performance last week when they head to 4 Pines Park on Saturday to tackle the Canberra Raiders in The Knock On Effect NSW Cup.

The Sea Eagles failed to fire against the Parramatta Eels in front of their faithful Blacktown home crowd last Sunday, going down 36-22.

A very ordinary first half saw Blacktown trail 22-6 at half-time with Parramatta capiitalising on some poor defence and errors to run in four tries in the first 40 minutes.

Blacktown showed more commitment in the second half to cross for three tries with powerful winger Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega scoring a hat-trick on the day. He also ran 233 metres for the game.

The Sea Eagles finished the game with 27 tackles and 10 errors.

It was a disappointing effort from Blacktown who managed to record two tough away wins prior to the Eels match.

Unfortunately for Blacktown, lock Dean Matterson, who finished with 30 tackles, will miss this Saturday's match against the Canberra Raiders through suspension

Canberra have won five of their eight games to sit fourth with Blacktown Workers in eighth place from four wins from eight games.
