Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Troy Dargan.
Dargan died in a motorcycle accident on Christmas Eve while holidaying in the Cook Islands with his family.
The 26-year-old half-back signed with the Blacktown Workers for the 2022 season and spent the pre-season training with the NRL squad.
The Manly Sea Eagles signed Dargan for the 2023 season, where he played six games for Blacktown Workers in the NSW Cup. He was player #159 for Blacktown Workers.
Dargan, who had previous stints at Parramatta Eels, Brisbane Broncos, and South Sydney (where he played two NRL games), had signed with the Canberra Raiders for the 2024 season. He twice represented the Cook Islands at Test level.
Manly Warringah Sea Eagles CEO Tony Mestrov said Dargan will always be fondly remembered at the Club.
"On behalf of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles, our Club extends its deepest condolences to Troy's family,'' Mestrov said.
"Troy was a very well respected and popular member of the playing squad over the past two seasons.
"He was a man of great integrity and values, who worked very hard to not only be a better player, but just as importantly, a kind and genuine man.
"Troy was always smiling, even when injuries tested his resilience.
"Troy also did some great work in the community where he made many friends through his positive energy.
"He will be sadly missed by everyone at the Sea Eagles."
