Blacktown Workers face good test against Bears

Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles get the chance to see where they are at this season when they take on competition leaders North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup on Saturday, June 3.

The Sea Eagles sit in ninth place on 13 points from four wins in 11 games and take on a Bears team that has won nine of their 12 matches.

It will be a good test for Blacktown Workers at North Sydney Oval after going down 26-20 to the Newcastle Knights in a spirited performance at McDonald Jones Stadium last Sunday.

In a frustrating game for the Sea Eagles, the Knights led 14-6 at half-time before some poor mistakes from Blacktown Workers proved too costly in the end.

The Bears had a five-game winning streak end last Friday night after going down 26-8 to the seventh placed Parramatta Eels.

Blacktown Workers have won two of their past four matches with a draw and the loss to Newcastle in between.

The match against the Bears will be the first time the two teams have met this season.

Former Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles players Alfred Smalley, Zach Dockar-Clay, Tyran Ott, and Kurt De Luis will line up for the Bears.

Exciting Blacktown Workers winger Clayton Faulalo will be looking to keeping his impressive form going, having crossed for 12 tries in 10 games to sit in second place for most tries in the NSW Cup this season.

Kick-off on Saturday is 12.40pm. The match will be shown live on Fox League.
