Sea Eagles out for fast start against Raiders

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be looking to build on a strong  comeback against Penrith when they take on the Canberra Raiders in the Jersey Flegg Cup on Saturday.

The Sea Eagles produced a spirited second half fightback to go down 30-16 to Penrith last Saturday after a disappointing first half saw Manly trail by 20 points at half-time.

Tries to Jamie Humphreys, Harryadyn Wilson and James Uesele in the space of 12 minutes in the second half weren’t enough to grab the lead as the Sea Eagles unfortunately left their attack too late into the match to make a difference.

Manly will be keen to get off to a fast start against the Raiders at Seiffert Oval and to reproduce their strong form that saw them record their first win of the season a fortnight against the Newcastle Knights at Blacktown.

The Raiders go into their home game on the back of a 26-8 loss at home to the Melbourne Storm last Friday night.

Canberra has lost their past five matches since opening their season with a win against Parramatta. The Raiders were beaten 28-6 by Penrith a fortnight ago.

The Sea Eagles sit in 11th position, one ahead of the bottom placed Raiders. Kick-off at Seiffert Oval, Queanbeyan is 2pm.
