Sea Eagles look to finish season on a high

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be out to finish their inaugural season in the Tarsha Gale Cup on a positive note this Saturday.

The Sea Eagles finish their season with a road trip to Raymond Terrace to tackle the Newcastle Knights. Manly has recorded two wins from their seven games.

Manly Coach Nik Wolfgramm will be hoping his women's team can bounce back after a lethargic performance in the 30-8 loss to South Sydney last Saturday on the back of a bye.

"Some teams benefit from a bye week and some don't. The rest allowed us to field a solid team but we lost all momentum,'' Wolfgramm said.

"After losing a few key players during the game, we were out enthused by a determined Souths team.

"It really has been the story of our season with the girls giving away too many penalties and making too many fundamental errors in our own half.

"I've always backed our girls to play footy but we just needed to be smarter.

"We trailed Souths 8-4 at half-time and I thought we could get them in the second half. Unfortunately, we were unable to break the habits of the first half and gave Souths too much possession and territory which they capitalised on.

"The fire is still there and we want to finish off the year with a statement against the Knights, especially for the club, fans and volunteers."

The round nine match kicks off at Lakeside Sporting Complex, Raymond Terrace, at 1.50pm. The Knights sit in third place with the Sea Eagles in ninth.
