Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles NSW Cup Coach Greg Boulous

Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles Coach Greg Boulous will be looking for his team to focus on the ‘full 80’ minutes when they tackle the Parramatta Eels in round three of the NSW Cup tonight.

The Sea Eagles got off to flying start in the opening round clash at 4 Pines Park, leading 16-0 after 20 minutes before a defensive lapse saw the scores levelled at half-time. The Bulldogs went on to win the match 36-16.

“We got off to a really fast start and defended well but we weren’t just consistent enough for the whole 80 minutes,'' Boulous said.

“The side we fielded hadn’t played much together in the trials so it’s going to take some time to build on the combinations at training.

“With the NSW Cup side, there are changes every week leading into a game, including the day of the game with players coming back from the Manly NRL team.

“You just need to adjust to that be flexible if you want to have good results in the NSW Cup. I have plenty of faith in our playing squad.”

Parramatta suffered a 42-12 loss to Newtown Jets last weekend following a 16-10 loss to Canberra in round one. Blacktown Workers had a bye last weekend.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm at HE Laybutt Field, Blacktown, after being transferred from Saturday afternoon due to the forecast heat conditions.
