Sea Eagles Junior Reps wrap

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles recorded one win and three losses in the NSWRL Junior Representative competitions on the weekend.

Here is a wrap up of our matches

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Sea Eagles recorded their second win of the season with a crushing 48-14 victory over the St George Dragons.

In a dominant display of sheer strength and power, the Sea Eagles ran in nine tries to three after leading 24-10 at half-time to record their biggest victory of the season under Coach Nik Wollfgramm.

Centre Taleenza Nelson wrote her way into the record books by becoming the first player to score three tries for Manly in their debut season in the Tarsha Gale Cup. (U19s)

Other tryscorers for Manly were Tafao Asaua, Ana-sofima Seia Perez, Mesha Fretton, Wanita Leatherby, Paris Pickering and Aaliyah Haumono. Sharnyze Pihema and Alicia Weir kicked three goals each in the win.

The Sea Eagles sit in ninth position with two wins from six matches with two rounds remaining of the regular season.

 

Harold Matthews

Winger George Mapuilesua scored eight of Manly’s 12 points in their 32-12 loss to the Dragons at Mascot Oval.

Mapuilesua crossed for a try and kicked two goals with full-back Reilly Caswell the other tryscorer. The scores were locked at 6-all at half-time before the Dragons piled on the points.

The Sea Eagles remain in 14th position, one ahead of the bottom placed Bears, with three rounds remaining.

SG Ball

The Taotua brothers, Maxwell and Mitchell, scored a try each in Manly’s 30-22 loss to the Dragons.

The Sea Eagles ran in four tries through half-back Josh Clark, winger Maxwell Taotua, second-rower Mitchell Taotua and Mant. Clark kicked three goals.

The loss leaves the Sea Eagles in 14th place with one win from six games with four rounds remaining of the regular season.

Jersey Flegg

The Sea Eagles turned in a spirited effort in losing 34-20 to the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park in round two of the Jersey Flegg.

Locked at 10-all at half-time, the Storm finished strongly in a six tries to four win. Half-back and captain Harrydyn Wilson, Brayden Ottmann, winger Cameron Brown, and Jonathan Chan scored tries for Manly.

The Sea Eagles sit in 11th spot after two consecutive losses.
