Elite club for three Sea Eagles players

Three Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players sit in an elite club of their own for their tryscoring feats against the Parramatta Eels.

Ray Ritchie, John McDonald, and David Williams are the only Manly players to have each scored four tries against the Eels dating back to when the two clubs entered the NSWRL competition in 1947.

Ritchie set the record in 1958 in a 41-14 win at Brookvale Oval in a season that saw him score nine tries and 37 overall for Manly.

McDonald’s four tries came in a 38-5 victory at Brookvale Oval in 1970.

Williams equalled the record with four first half tries in the 40-24 win at Brookvale Oval in 2012. The ‘Wolfman’ scored 12 tries against the Eels in eight games.

Four big tries for the "Wolfman"

The club record for most tries in a match for Manly is five, set by Les Hanigan against Cronulla at Brookvale Oval in 1967.
