Rd 13 NSW Cup Preview vs Bears

One of the great old rivalries in rugby league – the Sea Eagles and the Bears – will go head to head again at 4 Pines Park on Saturday.

The NSW Cup game between the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles and the North Sydney Bears will be played as a curtain raiser to the NRL match between Manly and the Warriors.

The two teams have met once this season at North Sydney Oval, with the Bears winning 56-18 on May 14.

Blacktown Workers are expecting several players back from injury and illness as they look to field a strong squad against the fancied Bears, who sit in third place on the ladder with eight wins from 11 matches.

“It’s a game we mark down on the calendar and look forward to each season,’’ said Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles Coach Nathan Hogan.

“We have challenged the playing group this week and expect to see a much-improved performance especially in front a great home crowd.”
