Sea Eagles 1972 Premiership winning team

Season 2022 marks 50 years since the first ever Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Premiership victory.

It was Saturday 16 September 1972 in front of a crowd of 54,357 at the Sydney Cricket Ground where Manly Warringah Sea Eagles defeated Eastern Suburbs Roosters 19-14.

Half a century later and with 7 more first grade Premiership trophies in the cabinet, the team of 1972 still holds that special privilege of bringing the first ever Premiership home to the Northern Beaches.

The 1972 Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Premiership winning team will be honoured at a celebratory dinner event on the evening of Friday 18 March 2022.

The dinner event will be held in the newly renovated Cliff Lyons Function Room at Manly Leagues Club and coincides nicely with the current Sea Eagles 2022 NRL Round 2 away game against Sydney Roosters at the Sydney Cricket Ground to be shown live on the big screen.

Members of the 1972 Grand Final winning team and Golden Eagles including Graham Eadie, Ray Branighan, Max Brown, Terry Randall and Bill Hamilton will be in attendance, along with fellow special guests Ken Arthurson and Peter Peters.

Ken Irvine, Bob Fulton, Dennis Ward and Fred Jones will be honoured and remembered on the night.
