Sea Eagles Finals Match Confirmed for Lottoland

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are pleased to advise that following a review of the report prepared by Northern Beaches Council into the safety of the venue, the NRL have confirmed that the Sea Eagles week 1 home finals match against the Sharks will proceed at Lottoland this Saturday evening.

Below is a copy of the NRL statement.

The Northern Beaches Council has assured both our Club and the NRL that Lottoland is completely safe to patrons and we encourage as many of our Members and fans to attend.

We would like to thank our Members and supporters for their patience whilst this matter was resolved. Just like the NRL and the Council, our number one priority is to always ensure the safety of our players, Members and fans.

We look forward to seeing you all at Lottoland this Saturday night.

NRL Statement

The National Rugby League has given approval for Saturday night’s elimination final between the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks to be played at Lottoland.

The NRL today received a formal guarantee, based on expert advice, from Northern Beaches Council that there will be no risk to public safety.

The council advised further testing carried out today showed no traces of asbestos in any other part of the ground and the affected area would be managed by covering with synthetic turf to remove any risk.

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg said the NRL had examined council’s response closely and gave approval for the match to proceed.

“Our number one priority is ensuring the safety of both our players and members of the public at each and every match,’’ he said.

“Council has shown us a detailed plan which removes all risk and ensures no threat to public safety. On that basis we have granted approval for the match to remain at Lottoland.”

Members tickets for Saturday night’s match will go on sale tomorrow morning at 11am. Tickets for the general public will go on sale at 4pm.
