Manly fanatic Mark Nugent has been named as the Sea Eagles ‘Member of the Month’ for June.

Mark has been supporting the mighty Sea Eagles since 1972 after he opened his first set of footy cards where the famous Manly colours appealed to him the most.

Mark’s wife, Cathy, says her husband can quote anything Manly related since 1972 when he first started supporting the club.

Although Mark has been battling lung cancer recently, he still finds the energy to get to Lottoland and support the club at home games as much as he possibly can.

His favourite Sea Eagles memory dates back to the famous 1978 Grand Final replay against Cronulla Sharks.

“My Mum wouldn’t give me permission to leave school early on Tuesday for the replay, and there was no way I was going to miss kick-off,'' Mark said.

"I ended up leaving school early anyway and was grounded for two weeks after but it was worth it."

As to who is his favourite player, there was one in particular that stood out.

“The club has produced so many great players over the years but I admire Max Krilich the most,'' he said.

"Max typified the spirit of the Sea Eagles and is Manly through and through.”

When asked about his favourite aspect of being a Sea Eagles Member, Mark said it was his ability to contribute to the club he loves in any way possible.

“Being able to contribute financially with other members and making the club stronger makes me proud to be a member. I am very honoured to be named as the June Member of the Month.”

For his support and dedication to the club, Mark receives a $100 back account courtesy of Freshwater Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank as his prize.

He also goes in the draw to be the 2019 Sea Eagles Member of the Year.

Mark will also be part of our exclusive Member Experiences in Round 24 (Members Appreciation Round).

The Club thanks Mark for his dedication and passion towards the Sea Eagles.

If you believe you, or someone you know, deserves to be the next Member of the Month, nominate them here
