Manly Warringah Sea Eagles reached a special milestone at Lottoland on Saturday.

In accumulating nine points against St George-Illawarra Dragons, the Sea Eagles notched 30,000 points since entering the first grade premiership in 1947.

The honour of reaching the nine points was brought up by winger Jorge Tafua when he crossed for his second try.

What an incredible, successful journey the Sea Eagles have enjoyed since playing their first ever premiership match against Western Suburbs Magpies at Brookvale Oval on April 12, 1947.

This Wednesday marks the 70th anniversary of that historic match when Manly went down 15-13 to Wests.

Current Manly first grade premiership stats (League Information Services, David Middleton)

5,319 tries; 5,397 goals; 203 field goals; 30,001 points

Played 1543 games, won 887, loss 620, drawn 36 (after Rd 6, 2017)
