An unlikely name has joined the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 70th year celebrations as the Club’s new exclusive wine partner.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs legend Peter Mortimer will always bleed blue and white when it comes to footy, but off the field, he is excited to be a part of the Sea Eagles 70th year celebrations, aligning his family business Mortimers Wines with the Sea Eagles for 2016.

As the Sea Eagles prepare to kick-off season 2016 against the Bulldogs on Friday 4th March, Peter and his brother Steve, both Bulldogs life members, will be guests of the Sea Eagles in the Chairman’s Club at Brookvale Oval for Round 1.

Mortimers will be the exclusive wine served in the Chairman’s Club, all corporate facilities and public bars for all Sea Eagles home games at Brookvale Oval for season 2016.

In partnership with the Sea Eagles, Mortimers are also releasing a special 70th year range of shiraz and chardonnay wines, custom labelled with the Sea Eagles 70th year logo and only available through Mortimers for a limited time in 2016.

“We are very excited to become involved with the Sea Eagles in such a historic year for the Club,” Peter Mortimer said.

“Whilst there’s a new coach, new players and new staff in at the Sea Eagles, it’s clear to see that none of the Club’s important heritage has been lost and 2016 will be a celebration of a very successful 70 years for the Club.

“We are delighted to be part of such an important year and we couldn’t be more impressed with the level of professionalism and how warmly we have been welcomed into the Sea Eagles corporate family."

Sea Eagles CEO Joe Kelly is thrilled to have Mortimers Wines on board for season 2016.

“The Mortimer name is synonymous with rugby league and we are privileged to have a legend of the game continuing his contributions through the family business by aligning Mortimers Wines with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles,” said Mr Kelly.

“I’ve sampled the wines myself and I’m sure our Members, supporters and corporate guests will appreciate the premium quality wine available at Brookvale Oval through our exciting new partnership with Mortimers.”
