The GIO City Origin side visited inner city Sydney last night to help the HopeStreet organisation with a BBQ.

Sea Eagles star Jamie Buhrer spoke with NSWRL about how nights like this keep them grounded.

"It's very good and puts things in to perspective. We're about to play a rep game and things are going well for us in our lives and to see people going through hard times, it just put's it all in to perspective," he said.

"Everyone down here has there chins up. There happy down here meeting the players and getting a feed and it's been a nice eye-opener."

Now his third time in the City Origin camp, Buhrer said that things are as relaxed as usual with Freddy Fitler at the helm.

"It's been pretty cruisy. He takes an approach where it's about the boys getting to know one another and training isn't to hard. All about getting the comraderie between the boys."
