Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have welcomed former premiership-winning winger Will Hopoate back to the Club as its new Wellbeing, Careers and Education Manager.
A member of Manly’s 2011 premiership-winning team, Hopoate made his NRL debut for the Sea Eagles in 2010 before going on to play 184 NRL games across 10 seasons.
Since retiring as a player in 2024, Hopoate has developed a strong interest in youth wellbeing, mentoring and education, and was co-founder of youth mentoring initiative Will to Succeed.
Will joins the Sea Eagles after three years with the Sydney Roosters where he was Wellbeing Manager for their male pathways players.
Will’s appointment will see current staff member John Bonasera transition into the role of Head of Football Operations.

“He has an obvious Manly pedigree, having come through our system and a key member of our 2011 premiership team, but it is his experience and understanding of the wellbeing and development of young players that makes him such a valuable addition.
“Will has experienced the highs and challenges of professional rugby league himself, so he will have a natural rapport with our players and a strong understanding of the pressures they face.
“We want our players to be the best footballers and people they can be, while also preparing them for life beyond the game. Will’s role will be an important part of that.
“At the same time, John’s move back into a football operations role, is also a plus for the Club. He’s a sharp operator with a wealth of experience.”
