Match Report: Jersey Flegg Cup Round 24 vs Warriors

The Warriors opened the scoring after 10 minutes when prop Tepatasi Laumalili crashed over. Harry Inch converted to give the visitors a 6-0 lead.

Manly hit back five minutes later, with halfback Charlie Boyle barging through the defence to score next to the posts. William Herbert converted to level the scores at 6-all.

The Warriors regained the lead through Emosi Ravosai before winger Brandon Norris extended their advantage with a try in the corner.

Dezman Laban then crossed following a short ball from Jack Thompson, with Inch's conversion giving the Warriors a 22-6 lead.

Manly reduced the deficit just before half-time when Boyle's chip found Robinson, who collected the ball and scored. Herbert converted to make it 22-12 at the break.

The Sea Eagles started the second half strongly, capitalising on a Warriors' error before hooker Zaidus Muagititia charged through the middle and found Boyle in support. Boyle crossed, with Herbert's conversion reducing the margin to four points at 22-18.

The Warriors responded through Jeriah Vagana Malaitai, who found space down the left edge to score and restore an eight-point lead.

Manly refused to surrender, with Robinson scoring his second try in the 70th minute after Muagititia kicked from dummy-half. Herbert converted to make it 26-24.

The Sea Eagles had a chance to snatch victory in the dying stages, but a late attacking set ended with Robinson unable to secure the ball over the line as the Warriors held on for a two-point victory.

The Sea Eagles will next face the Newcastle Knights at Newcastle on Sunday 23 August at 11am.
