Manly struggled to find points on a day which saw Newtown run in five of their 10 tries in the first half to lead 26-0 at the break.
Newtown Jets were first to score when hooker Jayden Berrell kicked a grubber into the in-goal and was put down by centre Michael Gabrael. The conversion was successful from Riley Pollard, the Jets took the early lead 6-0.
In the 12th minute winger Sam Stonestreet scored their second try. The conversion from the sideline was unsuccessful from Pollard, taking the score to 10-0.
In the 15th minute, Pollard threw a longball to Stonestreet who scored in the north-western corner. Pollard was unable to add the extras, Newtown Jets lead 14-0.
With 12 minutes remaining in the half, Jets prop Bradley Fearnley made a line break to score under the posts. Pollard added the extras to take their lead to 20-0.
In the 37th minute, Jets five-eighth Taj Ford scored off another Berrell grubber. Pollard added the two points. Newtown led Manly 26-0 at halftime.
The Jets were the first to score in the second half as Berrell crossed in the 48th minute. Pollard kicked the conversion to take the score to 32-0.
In the 52nd minute, Jets fullback Liam Ison finished off a break through the middle to score under the posts. The kick was successful, Newtown lead 38-0.
In the 60th minute Pollard crossed over for his own four pointer and added the extras to take the score to 44-0.
In the 63rd minute Jets winger Chris Vea’ila finished off a break and scored in the south-western corner of the ground. The conversion was unsuccessful, Jets lead 48-0.
With 10 minutes remaining in the match, Stonestreet crossed for his third try of the day. Pollard was unable to add the extras taking the score to 52-0.
The Sea Eagles scored their first and only try in the 77th minute when reserve hooker Zaidas Muagututia crashed over close to the line. The kick was successful from fullback Tex Hoy.
The match ended 52-6 in favour of the Newtown Jets.
Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have the bye next weekend before travelling to Melbourne to play the Storm on Sunday the 9th of August at Seabrook Reserve, Broadmeadows.
