Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are pleased to announce the signing of Toni Mataele on a two-year deal, commencing next season.
The 23-year-old middle forward will rejoin the Sea Eagles from the Parramatta Eels, where he made his NRL debut last season.
Mataele has featured in six NRL matches for the Eels this year, most recently their Round 18 victory over Manly last weekend.
A former Manly junior representative player, Mataele has played 68 games in the NSW Cup over the past six seasons.
Toni will return to the Club eight years after helping Manly claim its very first premiership in the Harold Matthews Cup. Playing in the centres, alongside the likes of Tolu Koula at fullback, Toni scored a late try in the Sea Eagles’ 26-18 victory over the Eels in the 2018 Grand Final.
Mataele will add further depth to the Sea Eagles' forward pack in 2027 and beyond.
Sea Eagles Head Coach Kieran Foran has welcomed the signing and believes Mataele has plenty of upside.
Toni is a young, athletic prop who will add quality, depth and aggression to our pack.
