Head-to-Head
The Sea Eagles have had the better of the Cowboys since their introduction to the competition in 1995, winning 24 of the 39 clashes between the two sides.
The Cowboys, however, have won seven of their 13 trips to the Northern Beaches and are the only team with a winning record against the Sea Eagles at 4 Pines Park.
Biggest Winning Margin
The Cowboys may have won more than they’ve lost at ‘Brookie’, but we’ll always remember their first visit in 1996.
Manly crossed for nine tries on a Sunday afternoon in a huge 46-4-win, centre Danny Moore scoring a hattrick. The 42-point margin still stands as the biggest margin between the two teams.
Most Points in a Match
The Sea Eagles put 50 on the Cowboys at home in 2021, on a night where the team wore a heritage strip in honour of club legend and rugby league Immortal, Bob Fulton.
Recently appointed Sea Eagles head coach Kieran Foran scored one of Manly’s nine tries that night. Current players Haumole Olakau’atu and Reuben Garrick also crossed in the 50-18 win.
Most tries in a match
Manly have piled on nine tries against the Cowboys on two occasions, both in front of a home crowd, although 25 years apart.
The first in Round 7, 1996 when we won by our biggest margin and again in Round 14, 2021 when put 50 points on the team from Townsville.
Most goals in a match
On seven different occasions a goal kicker has kicked seven successful goals.
Out of those seven, six times it has been achieved by a Sea Eagle.
Most recently it was current halfback Jamal Fogarty, who kicked seven goals in our 38-6 win when we visited the Cowboys up north back in Round 7.
Most individual points scored in a match
Reuben Garrick has scored 18 points in a game against North Queensland, not once, not twice but three times.
Garrick achieved this feat in both clashes back in 2021. Scoring a try and successfully kicking seven conversions when we played the Cowboys both home and away.
He also scored a try and kicked seven goals when we defeated the Cowboys 42-12 in Round 1 last season.
Most individual tries scored in a match
Seven players have crossed for hattricks over the years, but Danny Moore was the only man to do this twice, achieved in back-to-back years (1995 and 1996).
Another player on this list is Co-captain Tom Trbojevic, who scored a hattrick when we secured a top four finish in Round 25, 2021 with a 46-18 win.
Dean Whare and Jason Saab are the other Sea Eagles to score three, but no one has achieved this feat at 4 Pines Park since Moore did in 1996.
Longest winning streak
Once again, the Sea Eagles hold this record after winning six consecutive matches between the years of 2011 to 2014.
During this run of six wins, Manly defeated the Cowboys in Week 1 of the 2011 finals series, scoring seven tries in the second half, winning 42-8 as we charged towards our eighth premiership. Brett Stewart and Will Hopoate both scoring doubles.
Manly are looking to win a fourth consecutive game against the Cowboys this Sunday.
