A Manly Warringah volunteer for 50 years and a former Central Coast referee in the 60s are the Rugby League representatives among 949 Australians recognised today in the King’s Birthday 2026 Honours List.

Eric Galloway, current treasurer of the Belrose Eagles Rugby League Football Club, and William Curnoe, who started as a match official in 1967 with the Central Coast Rugby League Referees Association, have been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for their services to Rugby League. A total of 475 Australians received an OAM.

Galloway has held various roles with the Belrose Eagles Rugby League Football Club, including director, president and secretary; and similarly with the Manly Warringah District Junior Rugby Football League, with title including president, vice-president, and delegate to the NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) Council.

He was a recipient of the NSWRL Club Person of the Year, Ray Stellar Award, NSW Rugby League, in 2017.

Curnoe was also patron of the Central Coast Rugby League Referees Association and outside of match officiating he held roles as president and vice-president of Group 12.
