Kieran Foran appointed interim Head Coach at Manly

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are pleased to confirm the appointed Kieran Foran as interim Head Coach for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Foran returned to the Club this season as an Assistant Coach and has adapted exceptionally well to that role.

Foran played 196 games in two separate stints over nine seasons at Manly, winning the NRL premiership in 2011. Kieran was also recently appointed a life member of the Club.

Kieran retired from the NRL at the conclusion of the 2025 season, after 318 appearances across 17 seasons and 34 Test matches for New Zealand.

Sea Eagles Chairman Scott Penn says Kieran is the perfect person to fill this interim role.

“Kieran has given so much to this Club over many years and we are delighted that he has accepted this new role,” said Penn.

“The fact he has only recently finished his playing career is an advantage, he understands the current pace of the game and what we need to do to compete.

“He is Manly through and through and we know that he will pour all his energy into this new role.

CEO Jason King added, “Kieran has adapted so well in his short time back at the Club and we are thrilled he will be leading our team forward for the remainder of this season.

“He has a strong team around him, and I know he will make a success of this new role.

Kieran says he’s ready to do whatever is needed for the Club.

“I love this Club and I want to do everything in my power to continue the success we have had over many decades.

“The Sea Eagles have given me so many opportunities over the years and I want to continue to help wherever I can.

“We have a tremendous group of players and coaching staff and I have every confidence that we can achieve a lot together this season.

“All focus now is preparing as best we can for our next game against the Dolphins next Thursday.”
