Super Bowl Champions at 4 Pines Park for Gotcha4Life Cup

The Gotcha4Life Cup won’t be the only piece of silverware on show at 4 Pines Park when the Sea Eagles take on the Roosters in Round 4 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Super Bowl Champions the Seattle Seahawks will be special guests of the Sea Eagles on Thursday night, bringing with them the iconic Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Tight end and rookie superstar AJ Barner will be at the game as part of an Australian promotional tour by the Seahawks in conjunction with the NFL.

While the NRL continues to gain traction in America after three highly successful season-openers in Las Vegas, so too is the NFL aiming to strengthen its following in Australia.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are excited to be the first and only NRL club to host the Lombardy Trophy on this tour, expecting their guests to be a popular addition to Thursday’s Gotcha4Life Cup.

“I think it’s tremendous that the Seahawks have chosen to come to 4 Pines Park,” said Manly CEO Jason King.

“It might be very different to Lumen Field or Allegiant Stadium, but what we have here is something just as powerful — tribalism, tradition and passion.

It’s raw, it’s authentic, and it’s what makes this place so special.

Although he hasn’t watched a lot of NRL, Barner says he’s got a lot of respect for the players.

I really admire what these guys put their bodies through, week in week out.

“It’s full on from start to finish. These guys are supreme athletes, and super resilient too.”
