Junior Reps: Round 5 Preview

Manly's women’s junior representative teams are taking on the Raiders at Belconnen this Saturday, while our men’s junior rep teams are playing the Rabbitohs at 4 Pines Park this Sunday.

Lisa Fiaola Cup (U/17 Women’s)

The Lisa Fiaola Cup team are still searching for their first win of the campaign and will be looking to return refreshed and rejuvenated following last week’s bye as they prepare to take on the Raiders.

Their opponents are coming off a hard-fought 16-all draw against the Melbourne Storm and will be aiming to build momentum, setting up an exciting contest.

After a close loss to the Steelers in Round 3, coach Luke Phillips has made several changes to his lineup. Ruby King shifts back to her preferred fullback position, while Kalani Quadros moves to the wing.

In further adjustments, captain Erin Krenmayr returns to lock and Isla Webb has been named in the starting side at prop. With a fresh week under their belts and key positional changes made, the Sea Eagles will be determined to put together a strong performance and secure their first victory of the season.

Tarsha Gale Cup (U/19 Women’s)

The Sea Eagles are also chasing their first victory of the season in the Tarsha Gale Cup when the face the Raiders in Canberra on Saturday.

The Manly team should be fresh coming off a bye last week against a Raiders outfit which defeated the Melbourne Storm in Round 4, 26-14.

Sea Eagles coach Ray Windle has made a few changes to the backs, while also bringing Katie Andrews back into the halfback position. Malia Sio-Namulauulu shifts from hooker to lock to make way for Elouise Maher who comes in at No.9.

Harold Matthews Cup (U/17 Men’s)

After suffering their first loss of the campaign in Round 3 against the Steelers, the Sea Eagles will be eager to return to the winners’ circle when they face a Rabbitohs outfit sitting higher on the ladder.

South Sydney are coming off a tight victory over the Bulldogs at Redfern Oval last weekend, setting the stage for a great contest.

Coach Tom Giles has made just one change to his lineup, with Ryan Grigorian unavailable due to HIA protocol. Impressive forward Bryn Wooldridge earns a promotion from the bench into the starting side, as the Sea Eagles aim to bounce back.

SG Ball Cup (U/19 Men’s)

The Sea Eagles are coming off a bye in Round 4 after going undefeated for the first three weeks of the competition.

Only one change in the back five as Quinn Timperon makes way for Max Davies. Tyler Melrose will be coming in at halfback for Lachlan Metcalfe. No changes to the forward pack as Corey Kaltenbacher makes room on the bench for Jackson Rodwell.

South Sydney are coming off a big win last week as they defeated the Bulldogs 38-10 and will be looking to keep the momentum going.

If you aren’t able to make either games in Canberra or at home this weekend, you can watch it on BarTV Sports with a valid subscription.
