It’s a new squad, a new coach and a new season for the Sea Eagles Under 21s who will be competing in the Jersey Flegg Cup competition in 2026.
Chris Crotty will take charge of the team this year after guiding the Roosters to the second week of the finals in the Harold Matthews Cup last year.
A Northern Beaches local and lower grade player with Manly and the Roosters, Crotty made one NRL appearance for the Rabbitohs in 1997.
This year’s Jersey Flegg Cup season will be played over 26 Rounds with the competition taking a one-week mid-season break in May. Each team will play 21 games, plus four bye rounds.
The new-look squad is hoping to build on 2025 which saw the Sea Eagles finish 13th on the ladder.
The 2026 season kicks off as part of a triple-header against the Canberra Raiders at 4 Pines Park on Saturday 7 March.

Coach’s Comments – Chris Crotty
I’m really excited about coaching this team and the season ahead.
Our squad is made up of local Manly juniors, along with some strong additions from several clubs who are looking for a fresh start and the opportunity that Manly can provide.
Under the direction of our Strength and Conditioning Coach, Tom Marsh, the players look to be in great shape and are extremely fit. From day one of pre-season, their commitment has been outstanding and something I certainly can’t fault as coach.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had a couple of strong hit-outs against quality Jersey Flegg teams from Penrith and South Sydney.
We showed some really positive signs in our defence and demonstrated growing resilience when things didn’t go to plan

Resilience is a major focus for us as a group this season.
We’re very much looking forward to putting it all together when the competition kicks off against the Raiders in Round 1.
