Sea Eagles confirm 2026 Junior Rep Squads

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are delighted to announce our squads for this season’s junior representative season, which kicks off this weekend.

The Sea Eagles women’s teams take on Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup competitions on Saturday, with our men’s teams lining up against the Warriors in New Zealand on Sunday.

In a sign of continued progress for our pathways program, our men's junior rep teams are again dominated by local juniors. In fact, 26 players in our Harold Matthews squad alone are from the Northern Beaches.

Sea Eagles CEO Jason King has congratulated all players who have been selected to represent the Club in this season's junior representative competitions.

"Our junior rep players should be very proud to be wearing the Manly colours," said King.

"They have worked hard through the pre-season and the trials and every one of them has earned their spot.

As a Club we are thrilled to be seeing so many local juniors coming through our pathways programs and long may this continue.

Jason King Sea Eagles CEO

"Good luck to all teams and the coaching staff."

Coach's Comments - Luke Phillips

The Manly Lisa Fiaola squad is entering a significant rebuilding phase following the past few seasons. Our focus is on developing a young, committed group of players, largely drawn from our local junior pathways, with the aim of building strong foundations for the future.

This squad includes several players experiencing elite junior representative football for the first time, alongside a small group returning from previous seasons who are stepping into leadership roles. For many, this represents a crucial stage in their development and an important opportunity to test themselves in one of the leading female junior competitions.

Pre-season has been intentionally tough, with a strong emphasis on skill development, game understanding, and building resilience both individually and collectively. The growth shown throughout this period has been extremely encouraging and reflects the commitment and attitude of the playing group.

Our long-term vision is clear: to continue developing players within this program, transition them into the Tarsha Gale system, and ultimately see them contribute to a future Harvey Norman program at Manly. The work being done now is about more than just this season — it is about setting both the players and the club up for sustained success.

The Manly Tarsha Gale squad is a young and developing team, with players selected through our invitational trial process to ensure the club was strongly represented in this esteemed competition.

While this year’s squad has been assembled from those trials, our long-term goal remains to strengthen the female program by increasing opportunities for local girls to progress and represent Manly.

The group has come together quickly to form a tight and committed unit, giving themselves the best possible chance to compete in what is widely regarded as the premier Under 19s female Rugby League competition in the world.

Since commencing preparations in November, the squad has completed an intense pre-season, combining demanding physical sessions with high-level skill-based drills designed to further develop individual ability and overall team performance.

The Manly Harold Matthews squad for 2026 is made up predominantly of local juniors, with the majority progressing through our Under 16s development program and a variety of Manly junior clubs. This reflects the strength of our pathways and the continued focus on developing talent from within the Manly region.

Pre-season has challenged the group through gruelling beach sessions, intense field work, and four trial matches. These experiences have allowed many players to step up and embrace higher standards. The season ahead provides further opportunity for growth within the Manly system and will help players deepen their understanding of the Manly Way.

Khyanu Mahon will proudly captain the team in 2026. He has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and strong values throughout the pre-season. Khyanu will be supported by a solid leadership group that will assist him in guiding the team on the field.

Coach’s Comments – Lachlan Croker

We are very pleased with the pre-season we have had. The boys have come a long way, and it is extremely encouraging to see the information we’ve worked on being applied in both games and training sessions. Their effort and commitment, particularly their desire to be good teammates, has been especially promising.

We have selected our squad and team based on ability and work ethic, regardless of age. Every player has earned their place within the squad.

Our aim is to be one of the stronger defensive teams in the competition, and naturally, playing elimination football is a key goal for us. We believe we have the squad to achieve this and are excited to test ourselves this weekend against what will no doubt be a very strong and skilful New Zealand team.

We are fortunate to have a high-quality coaching group consisting of Jack and Cooper Johns, Brad and James Parker, Harrison Nicholson, and Scott Moran. While we are a relatively young coaching staff, all have experience across the NRL and junior pathway systems. The group thoroughly enjoys working with this Under 19 squad and is very much looking forward to the next three months of football.
