Manly Warringah Sea Eagles next gen players have been putting in the hard yards in summer in readiness for next year’s junior representative season.
The Sea Eagles will again field rep teams for the girls in Lisa Fiaola (U17s) and Tarsha Gale (U19s) competitions as well as for the boys in Harold Matthews (U17s) and the SG Ball Cup (U19s).
With the support of the Manly District Junior Rugby League, the Sea Eagles are also running Development Squads for boys in Under 16s and Under 18s.
These squads will continue to play an important role in Manly’s elite talent programs, providing an opportunity for those not playing in the Sea Eagles’ junior representative teams.
Several new faces have joined the Sea Eagles pathways coaching crew, including recently retired hooker, Lachlan Croker, who is taking charge of Manly’s SG Ball team.
Manly’s Harold Mathews Cup team is being coached by Tom Giles, former Manly player Luke Phillips is taking charge of the Lisa Fiaola Cup side, and Ray Windle is coaching Manly’s Tarsha Gale Cup team.
Another recent addition to the pathways program at Manly is Blake Cavallaro who has been appointed Junior Pathways and Development Manager. Blake joins Manly after several years in elite player development, holding representative coaching and management positions at the Roosters, Bulldogs, Waratahs and the NSWRL.
Former Manly halfbacks Matt Orford and Geoff Toovey are again heavily involved in the club’s development programs in 2026.
Orford, a premiership-winner and Dally M Medalist, is again coaching the Under 16s Development squad while club legend Toovey will once again be assisting across several pathways programs.
The Under 18s Development squad will come together in late January.
The Sea Eagles summer squads have been in training since the start of November and already have a couple of trials under their belt, with games against the Central Coast Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Further trials are planned for mid-January. Harold Matthews and SG Ball squads will play Balmain while Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale teams will take on the Dragons.
Final selection trials before teams are announced will be on Saturday 24th January, with the junior representative season kicking off on 7th February.
