Sipley unsuccessful at NRL Judiciary
Manly Warringah Sea Eagles prop Toafofoa Sipley will finish his time at Manly stuck on 99 NRL games after failing to have a dangerous contact charge downgraded at the NRL Judiciary.
Sipley was hit with a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charge following a tackle on David Klemmer early in the second half of last weekend’s match against the Dragons at Kogarah.
Sipley could have served a 3-match ban with an early guilty plea but is now faced with a four-game suspension.
The unsuccessful challenge means the much-loved 30-year-old will be unavailable to play against the Warriors on Friday night, which was to be his last game at the club.
It’s a disappointing end to Sipley’s time at Manly where he played 97 games over seven seasons after joining the club from the Warriors in 2018.
Sipley was recently released from the final year of his contract at Manly to take up two-year deal with English Super League club, Warrington Wolves.
