With no game this weekend, a panel of independent ‘experts’ from Manly Warringah Sea Eagles media team have come up with a ‘best of’ team from the modern era.
This lineup is chosen from the current century (2000-2025) and does not include players who are still in the game.
Our wannabe selectors will also compile a ‘best of’ team from last century (1947-1999) when we next have the bye in Round 16.
And then, when the Sea Eagles have their final bye in Round 19, our armchair experts will put together an ‘all time’ best team, combining past players from both centuries.
As a guide, players whose career spanned both the 1900s and 2000s, will be chosen in the team which best reflects their efforts for this great club. There is a strong argument of course for ‘Beaver’ to be included in both, if not all three, ‘best of’ teams.
Quite a few selections in our first Bye Round team list were no brainers, but a few positions did spark some robust debate at the selection table.
