The junior representative teams take a break this weekend as the NSWRL launches its senior men’s competitions – the Sydney Shield and Ron Massey Cup.

The Sea Eagles are again represented in the Sydney Shield by Manly Leagues, and will take on St Mary's this Saturday.

The Sydney Shield is a fourth-tier competition which feeds into the Ron Massey Cup for both emerging and senior players.  It’s a 10-team competition played over 20 rounds plus a finals series.

Jersey Flegg Cup (U21s)

The Anthony Watmough coached Jersey Flegg team heads into week two of the new season following a first-up 38-8 win over the Rabbitohs in Round 1.

The 21s take on the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland on Saturday and Watmough welcomes a couple of new faces to his lineup.

Joining the team is 18-year-old half, Joey Walsh, and teenage hooker, Zaidas Muagututia.

The Warriors are hoping for a much-improved performance following a 50-4 loss to the Raiders last weekend at Leichhardt Oval.

NSW Cup

Our NSW Cup team will play the Warriors in the curtain-raiser to the NRL at Go Media Stadium.

There are a couple of changes to the team which led with five minutes to play, only to suffer a 22-20 loss to the Rabbitohs last weekend.

Towering winger, Navren Willett comes into the backline pushing Jordan Swann into the centres and Max Hayley to the bench.

Coach Guy Williams has decided to go with Aitasi James and Chris Patolo as his starting props, with Jacob Sykes moving to the bench.

Much like what the Bunnies did to us in Round 1, so too did the Warriors last weekend, scoring late in the game to beat the Raiders 18-16.
