Manly showed real grit and determination in their 20-18 victory.

Both sides could barely be separated, scoring threes apiece in a match that went down to the wire.

The Bulldogs held a 12-0 lead at half-time thanks to a three-minute double from Hannah Makira.

Manly hooker Mere Rasaku scored in the 32nd minute before second-rower Indiana Russell-Lia scored two tries in three minutes to give the Sea Eagles an 18-12 lead with lock Lili Boyle converting all three tries.

Canterbury hit back with seven minutes remaining and it was looking like the Sea Eagles were going to have to settle for their third draw in a row before Boyle stepped up to convert a penalty goal with four minutes remaining.

Manly remain undefeated in five matches with three wins and two draws.
