Morgan Boyle tries to break free of the Jets defence today

A confident Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles head to the Nation’s capital on Sunday to tackle the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium in Round 12 of the NSW Cup.

Buoyed by a 22-all comeback draw against the fourth placed Newtown Jets last Sunday, Blacktown Workers will be chasing their fourth win of the season.

Trailing 22-10 to the Jets at half-time, Blacktown Workers scored four tries in the final 12 minutes to snatch the draw.

It was similar to the their round 10 win over the St George-Illawarra Dragons, when they again scored four late tries to claim a 34-26 victory at Blacktown.

Blacktown Workers hooker Gordon Chan Kum Tong highlighted the grit and determination in the side to avoid two defeats in a row.

“We trust the process. We showed at the back end that we trust each other and are willing to work for one another,'' Chan Kum Tong said.

"We started off a bit dusty, but it shows the character of the boys. We dug deep, held the ball and scored some points.

"We need to start well against Canberra. We have to hold the ball and complete our sets and hopefully, we can get some more wins under our belt.”

Canberra head into the game on the back of a dominant 44-12 win over the Parramatta Eels to make it four straight victories.

The Raiders sit in fifth position on 15 points with the Sea Eagles in eight place on 11 points.

Blacktown Workers head into the game without in-form prop Ben Condon, who will make his Club debut for Manly in the NRL game against the Raiders.

Kick-off at GIO Stadium on Sunday is 1.50pm.
