Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will be looking to kick start their 2023 Jersey Flegg Cup (U21s) campaign with an opening round victory at home this Saturday.

The Sea Eagles host the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at 4 Pines Park and will be keen to improve on their 10th place finishing in 2022.

Coach Adam McEwen has given the captaincy duties to talented half-back Harradyn Wilson, who has benefited greatly from training with the Sea Eagles NRL squad over summer along with full-back Charlie Thompson.

Wilson played half-back in Manly’s Pre-Season Challenge win over South Sydney last month. He played for Souths Magpies in the Qld Cup last year.

“Harradyn has a tremendous work ethic and is a great communicator,’’ McEwen said.

“In his short time with our team, Harradyn has demonstrated natural leadership abilities and it's these qualities that have led the coaching staff to install him as captain.

“We look forward with excitement and anticipation of Harradyn leading the team in our season opener.”

The round one match kicks off at 11am in the first match of a triple header against the Bulldogs.
