Sea Eagles talent sticks together

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have taken another positive step in ensuring a strong playing roster for the years ahead with the re-signing of three quality, young players.

Fresh from the recent re-signings of Josh Schuster, Haumole Olakau’atu and Toafofoa Sipley, the Sea Eagles are pleased to announce new deals for forward Sean Keppie, centre Brad Parker and winger Reuben Garrick.

Keppie was re-signed last August to the end of the 2023 season but the Club has rewarded him for his fine efforts this season by extending the deal out to the end of 2024.

The re-signings of Parker and Garrick will see both of them remain at the Sea Eagles until the end of the 2023 season.

The Club had already re-signed the skillful Olakau’atu in March to the end of the 2024 season, the highly talented Schuster in May until the end of the 2024 season, and the hardworking Sipley in May to the end of 2023.

Keppie has quickly established himself as a key member of the Manly forward pack since making his NRL debut for the Sea Eagles in the final round of the 2019 season. He has now played 34 first grade games.

A proud Manly junior, Parker has taken his game to another level under Coach Des Hasler.  A strong defensive centre and respected clubman, Parker has also shown his tryscoring ability in 2021, crossing for six tries in 14 matches to date.

Garrick has enjoyed a stellar rise in the NRL after joining the Sea Eagles for the 2019 season. A noted points scorer who can cover wing and full-back, Garrick is sitting in second position for most points in the Telstra Premiership this season.

Sea Eagles CEO Stephen Humphreys said the Club was pleased to have secured the majority of its playing roster.

“Our squad has performed really well over the last couple of months and begun to show everyone what we are capable of,’’ Humphreys said.

“Stability is an important ingredient of success at the elite level and so I’m thrilled, as I know all Sea Eagles Members will be, that the majority of our squad will continue to work together and with Des over the coming years in realising their full potential.

“I congratulate Sean, Brad and Reuben on their new deals which they have earned through their hard work, persistence and excellent performances.

“They are all perfect clubmen who give 100% each and every time they pull on the famous maroon and white jersey and we love having them at Manly.”
