Sea Eagles release Heritage jersey for 75th year anniversary

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have today unveiled an exciting new Heritage jersey featuring some of the Club’s greatest names as part of our 75th year anniversary.

In what is sure to become a collector’s item for Sea Eagles Members and supporters, this exclusive jersey highlights our nine NRL Hall of Fame inductees led by Immortal, Bob Fulton, who has his name on the back of the jersey collar.

Fulton holds the unique distinction of winning Premiership titles and Ashes series as a player, captain and coach.

Roy Bull, Eddie Lumsden, Ken Irvine, John O’Neill, Graham Eadie, Kerry Boustead, Cliff Lyons, and Steve Menzies also have their names printed around the sleeves of the jersey.

The maroon jersey, to be worn with the traditional white shorts, features a large sea eagle in the design and pays homage to the 1957-64 style of jersey worn by the Sea Eagles.

The jersey has been made possible by the generous support of Mr Greg Poche AO and Mrs Kay Van Norton Poche AO, who have invested in the main front position for this jersey, ‘gifting’ it back to the Club to feature the ‘Heritage Eagle’ instead of a sponsor logo front and centre.

Major Partner URM, as amazing supporters of the Club for the past 25 years, also move to the lower back position for this jersey to help make this all possible.

Fulton, who was born less than a month after Manly was granted entry into the NSWRL competition in 1946, said the Heritage jersey is special to him.

“I am sure all of the NRL Hall of Fame players from Manly who are on this jersey feel just as proud as I am to be associated with the Club’s 75th year anniversary.

“The design of this jersey is terrific. Seventy-five years is a great achievement for the Manly club and I am sure this jersey will be very popular with supporters.”

Manly CEO Stephen Humphreys said the Club was proud to pay tribute to its Hall of Fame representatives.

“An important feature of our 75th year celebrations will be to recognise all players and staff who have been part of building this great club and remind everyone of their enormous contributions. The creation of this commemorative jersey and the inclusion of our NRL Hall of Fame players on it is certainly a great way to honour their wonderful achievements.”Humphreys said.

“All nine of these players left a lasting legacy at the Sea Eagles over many years.

We are very proud of our rich and successful history and these Hall of Fame players will forever hold a special place in our Club

The Heritage jersey will be worn by the current Sea Eagles NRL squad for the annual Golden Eagles Round against the Melbourne Storm at Lottoland in round 21 in August.
