Manly Warringah Sea Eagles full-back Tom Trbojevic has been ruled out of the NSW Blues extended squad for the State of Origin series in November.
Trbojevic was one of five players named by NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler in the extended squad on Sunday night and was scheduled to come into camp on 19 October.
The fullback played just seven matches this season after battling hamstring and shoulder injuries and made the decision to withdraw from the squad.
“We appreciate the effort by Tom and the Manly Sea Eagles to try to get him ready for Origin,” said Fittler.
“It must have been a difficult but selfless decision for Tom to put the team first ahead of his desire to play in the series next month.”
Fittler will add players to the extended squad every Sunday as more teams are eliminated from the NRL’s Finals Series.
Jake Trbojevic remains a part of the Blues extended squad.
