Member of the Month for April named

Passionate Member Damian Parkes has been named as the Sea Eagles ‘Member of the Month’ for April.

Damian has been a Sea Eagles supporter for 43 years now and his first memory comes after a convincing win over the Dragons when sitting on the steps of the famous Jane Try stand.

Fellow Members describe Damian as having Maroon and White blood after indoctrinating his kids and all of his mates into the club. He is pictured with son Joshua.

Damian has many fond memories over the many years of supporting the club, but there are two in particular that stand out for him.

“It’s really difficult to come up with one memory or moment. The 40-0 drubbing of the Melbourne Storm in the 2008 Grand Final comes close but my number one would have to be when the Sea Eagles played Great Britain in the 80’s when Geoff Toovey tore them up.”

When asked about the team's current performances this season, Damian is delighted to have Des Hasler back as Head Coach.

“Every game this year, win, lose or draw, Manly have given their all and left nothing in the tank which, as a staunch fan, leaves you feeling proud of your team,'' Damian added.

And as to what his favourite aspect of being a Sea Eagles Member is, Damian said it was his love for the local community.

“Being part of the best local sporting community, but also knowing that in some way you are making a difference for our great club,'' he said.

For his efforts, Damian will receive a $100 bank account courtesy of Freshwater Community Bank ® Branch of Bendigo Bank as his prize. He also goes in the draw to be the 2019 Sea Eagles Member of the Year.

Damian will also be part of our exclusive Member Experiences in Round 24 (Members Appreciation Round).

The Club thanks Damian for his passion and commitment towards the Sea Eagles.

If you believe that you, or someone you know, deserves to be the next Member of the Month, nominate them here.
