Five footy obsessed kids from Royal Far West (RFW) were very excited at meeting some of the Sea Eagles players at Narrabeen yesterday.

The Sea Eagles have had a long and enjoyable community partnership with Royal Far West, who have transformed the lives of thousands of disadvantaged and vulnerable children and their families.

Based in Manly, Royal Far West strive to make an outstanding contribution to children with complex health and behavioural disorders, developmental delays, and mental health problems who live in rural and remote areas and cannot access specialised services.

Manly’s final home game of the season at Lottoland on Saturday, September 2, sees Royal Far West as the charity of choice for the Country Kids Round.

“There will be plenty of RFW kids and families excitedly watching the game,’’ said RFW’s Community Manager John Reid.

“There are strong parallels – Royal Far West supports kids from regional and rural Australia, often bringing them to Manly for treatment - while the Sea Eagles bring in players from the bush and supports them to reach their full potential

“To the delight of the kids Manly team members pop into the RFW premises to play sport with them. The players also help out at RFW’s Sea Eagles sponsored camps.

“It’s a huge thing for our kids to be recognised by their favourite footy players and it gives them a massive boost of confidence, especially when they learn that some of the players they admire come from rural areas just like them, and that these players are taking an interest in our kids.

“The Sea Eagles give RFW tickets to games throughout the year and it’s a wonderful treat for our families to go to a game as a family.”
